Rolling rubber ring seal system - Innovation by Aerotechnik Siegwart

The rolling rubber ring seal by Aerotechnik Siegwart was developed to offer an alternative to out-dated sealing techniques like adhesive tape or sealing compound. With the rolling rubber ring seal you don't have to seal each single spigot of fitting and duct in a time-consuming and awkward process. And you also don’t have to rivet or to bolt fitting and duct together. This means that you can save a lot of time: just put the fitting into the duct and you get a connection which is airtight (fulfils the highest class of DIN 24194/Eurovent 2.2) and firm (doesn’t need any axial locking device for diameters up to 315 mm and pressures up to 1.000 Pa). The performance of the rolling rubber ring seal for overpressure is as good as for low pressure; in both cases it fulfils DIN 24145 table 2. The rolling rubber ring seal therefore provides a sealing system which is at least as good as that of other new seal designs like lip seals. The rolling rubber ring seal is made of elastomer rubber HW/EPDM; it is resistant against weakly aggressive steam and chemicals; its resistance to aging is outstanding. Another advantage of the rolling rubber ring seal is that it can be replaced at any time, because it is not connected to the fitting: So for example if the seal is damaged on the building site, it can quickly be replaced with a new one – if the seal were connected to the fitting you would have to replace the whole fitting.
